The Life of
Million Dollar Babies

This film tells the story of women competing in Golden Gloves boxing. Women had been trying to get into the competition for many years, but not until 1994 was the case for women given real attention. Threatened with a civil lawsuit from the ACLU, women were finally let in for the first time in 1995. As of today, boxing is the only sport in the Olympic games exclusively for men.

This film follows eight women in the 2005 tournament who each think they can be the next champion. The filmmaker, Leyla, was a sparring partner for Hilary Swank while preparing for "Million Dollar Baby".
